Imagine beginning your career with access to the conversations that shape the future of global business. As a Business Development Lead, you will work at the intersection of client strategy, market intelligence, emerging technology, and executive decision-making. You will learn from accomplished sales leaders, contribute to real growth opportunities, and see how ideas become large-scale transformation programs. Just as importantly, you will learn directly from accomplished sales leaders at one of the world’s leading technology and consulting organizations—leaders who have built trusted executive relationships, opened new markets, and shaped complex, transformational opportunities. The Role: Enterprise Growth in Action This is not a conventional sales role focused only on carrying a quota. You will help shape client and account strategies, analyze markets and competitors, support executive engagement, develop opportunity strategies and sales plays, identify pathways into new accounts, and translate client priorities into compelling growth propositions. You will also learn how AI, data, cloud, and emerging technologies are reshaping industries—and gain experience applying these capabilities to real client growth opportunities. Your TALP [TCS Accelerated Leadership Program] Journey TCS Accelerated Leadership Program (TALP) is an intensive two-year development experience that combines business-unit ownership, cross-functional rotations, senior-leadership access, and structured learning. In the Enterprise Growth Leadership Track, you will begin your career as a Strategic Business Development Manager working at the intersection of client strategy, industry insight, consulting, technology, and commercial execution—helping TCS North America identify whitespace opportunities, open executive conversations, shape transformation propositions, and advance complex opportunities. Launch | Weeks 1–8: Build fluency in TCS, priority industries, client value creation, consultative growth, executive communication, and the economics of complex opportunities through an intensive bootcamp and simulations—while giving you the network and confidence to contribute quickly. Rotational development| Month 3 to Month 24: Complete three assignments – rotation sequence and duration will reflect business priorities, individual development needs, and available opportunities. Rotation 1—Industry and Client Growth: Contribute to active opportunities within an industry, research client priorities, and support solution and proposal strategy. Access to the highest levels of business: Gain exposure to C-suite leaders at Fortune 500 companies and learn how their most important growth and transformation agendas take shape. Unmatched breadth: Explore opportunities across major industry sectors and a wide range of technology, consulting, and business capabilities. Learn from exceptional sales leaders: Work alongside accomplished leaders who have built markets, earned executive trust, and led complex global opportunities. Real responsibility from the start: Contribute to active client opportunities, market strategies, executive presentations, and plans for taking new ideas to market. A powerful commercial foundation: Build skills in executive communication, consultative selling, negotiation, market intelligence, client strategy, and commercial decision-making. A platform for leadership: Position yourself for future careers in business development, sales leadership, strategy, consulting, partnerships, industry leadership, and transformation. A visible career path: Upon completion of the two-year rotation program, you will transition into roles such as strategic account lead, industry growth manager, solution growth lead, or complex-opportunity lead. Longer term, the pathway can extend into sales leadership, industry leadership, market leadership, and large-transformation deal leadership. What to Expect in the Evaluation Process Business Challenge: Work through a realistic growth scenario and present your recommendation. We will look at how you structure the problem, use insight, and communicate your thinking. Working-Style Assessment: Complete a short assessment designed to understand work preferences and relevant traits. Leadership Interviews: Meet business leaders through structured conversations focused on problem solving, communication, commercial thinking, learning agility, resilience, relationship building, and initiative. Prompt Outcome: We aim to communicate the decision quickly and clearly. A Typical Week In a typical week, you may identify a high-potential prospect, determine the right path to senior decision-makers, and build a thoughtful outreach plan around a business issue that matters to them. You will help prepare for high-value conversations by understanding the client’s strategic priorities, anticipating executive perspectives, and shaping a compelling point of view on how TCS can help. You may draft a personalized outreach message, refine the storyline for a CXO discussion, join a client conversation, and translate what you hear into a clear next move. As momentum builds, you will work with industry, consulting, technology, solution, and commercial leaders to sharpen the opportunity, develop win themes, shape the value proposition, and turn an early conversation into a differentiated transformation deal. Who Should Apply? This opportunity may be right for you if you are completing an MBA or equivalent graduate degree, bring relevant prior professional experience, and want to build a career in enterprise growth. We are looking for people who combine curiosity, structured problem solving, clear communication, commercial judgment, resilience, initiative, and the ability to build trusted relationships.
